I called Host Communications in Dallas, which publishes Texas Football, on Monday and asked when it would hit the newsstands. Their answer: probably the second week in July. However, you can pre-order it and probably get it the last week in June in your mailbox.

There are other mags (Athlon's, Sporting News, etc.) that give much more accurate and OBJECTIVE previews. Dave Campbell wouldn't know objectivity if it landed on him.

His high school coverage is usually pretty thorough, though.

That's because local sports writers mail that info in to DC. I agree. The only reason why I buy DC'S TFM is for the high school coverage. I'm interested in seeing which Teasip or Texas A$M player(s) lands on the cover this year...it makes me puke!

My guess is we'll be forced to see another "Cedric Benson: next Ricky Williams/Earl Campbell." Yawn. Give me Foy Munlin!
