In the September 24th issue of Sports Illustrated in the Fan's Guide to the Heisman Trophy - N.C. State's QB, Philip Rivers, received the second highest number of votes as the week's leading nominee for the Heisman. He was the 2000 ACC Rookie of the year.

AND THE MUSTANGS MADE HIM LOOK TERRIBLE IN THE FIRST HALF!! Granted he got going in the second half - but way to play SMU defense !!

I was so excited to see the team pumped up for the game. You guys have turned a big corner. I was so proud of your play. Keep it up!

The final score did not show how very close this game was. You dominated the first half. You made big plays. You ran the ball well, broke tackles, made short and long passes. Best tackling I have seen all season!

The difference - focus and confidence! Keep it up and WIN!!
