Re: Most Stupid Decision Ever Award
SMU should have just ridden out the one-year penalty. Most of our players would have stayed.

Re: No more badmouthing for Turner and Hart
So, does the fact that he was charged as fixing athletics as a pre-condition to his current contract extension, forgive the man for sitting on his arse for almost three decades forgive him. What do I tell those fanatic Mustangs that passed during that time and will never have the chance to see our ...

Re: Why PAC teams won't head to Big XII
TCU has raised more endowment money during Turner's extended tenor. Under at least three presidents. I've heard that, "but look at the money he's raised!" So what!

Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
We need a basketball program before we worry about who we play. Losing to Baylor or any other Big 12 team would only embarass us. Will we even make the AAC tournament this year?

Being successful in sports at SMU and becoming more popular than our lifetime President is like working for the Clintons.

Re: Latest on PAC12 Expansion
I believe it really makes little difference who has the largest TV deal. Contracts are based on the current roster of teams in a conference, not some proforma as to a deal that might include new schools. Say the PAC enters a contract paying each school $30,000,000 per year and the Big 12 $35,000,000 ...

Re: RIP to another great Mustang
Dedo was a long-time friend and associate. He once told me he left Alabama because there was an All-American ahead of him and he would never get to play. So, he left for SMU, only to sit on the bench for a new sophomore--Jerry LeVias! Knowing Ed, I really don't know the truth. He never mentioned the ...

Re: How should SMUΓÇÖs Death Penalty be remembered in NIL era?
What bothers me the most, is how selective everyone's memory is. SMU was not alone, in paying players. I Was watching 365 Sports (the Baylor radio/sports show). People forget, even before the sex scandal, in the same years we were paying players, TCU was penalized, they dismissed their -recruiting ...

Re: Fire Rick Hart
there is a little truth in many of these statements. But, the desire to win, to financially support the program and fulfill promises made to the new coaches as they were recruited, was the real problem.
With June, the problem was admissions, funding and broken promises. Just like Chad, he was ...

Re: SMU as Dallas's Team | TCU as Ft Worth's Team
When I was in school, word was that TCU recruited in West Texas. The claim was that when TTU joined the old SWC, TCU fell to the bottom of the standings as the lost their West Texas monopoly. Looking back, most of their legends did indeed come from West Texas, but no one knows the real truth.

Don't know a head coach or corporate executive that would take a job without having the ability to hire or fire his own direct reports. Hawaii offered the job but told him he couldn't hire his own assistants.

I must be naive, but do any of you feel that we must put some limits on this?
Obviously $50,000 per unidentified lineman exceeds any true economic value for these likenesses.
What would happen if someone actually challenged the extent of these payments in court?
I would imagine you could show that ...
