SMU FOOTBALL 7 ON 7 TOURNAMENT

The Arlington Lamar Vikings went 6-0 and won the SMU tournament yesterday beating South Garland, Lake Highlands, Denton Ryan, Richardson, Mansfield Summit and Denton Guyer. The Vikes are 24-1 in tournament play this season.

Of more interest to most PonyFans, the SMU coaches were very visible and ...

There are actually two tournaments being held at SMU. The state qualifier described above is SMU allowing the use of the facilities by the host high school.

On Wednesday June 18th, SMU Football is hosting a 7 on 7 tournament. Great chance for the coaches to get a lot of athletes on campus for a ...

I sure want to second the motion that Justin is a great representative of the Mustangs. I think the recognition of his talent by first New England and then Dallas makes the rest of the league sit up and take notice. Couple that with Coach Jones and his contacts in the NFL and new recruits will take ...

Gary Glick in Dallas is Ben's agent. According to Gary there is interest in Ben from at least three teams. Steelers and Pitt apparently share some work out facilities in Pittsburgh and the Steelers o-line coach approached Coach Bennett about Ben and there seems to be some interest there. They like ...

We have another Poynter that is interested in SMU. Son Michael is a 6'2" 190 lb QB for Arlington Lamar which as most of you know SMU has had an excellent pipeline to (Poynter, Turner, Kennemer, Ellis, Michelson) in recent years. You will not find him in data bases just yet as he did not start for ...

Just to keep you up to date, Tom Bresnahan and Gene Stallings who coached Ben Poynter in the Texas vs. The Nation All Star Game have told Ben and his agent that Ben can definitely play center in the NFL. Tom Bresnahan coached O-line in the NFL for many years and I think most of you know Gene ...

For those that are interested in this year's game, Ben played a little over 50% of the offensive plays for Texas in a 41-14 win. They get a really nice ring as part of the winning squad. Kind of a funny story, a fellow o-lineman who was the offensive lineman of the year in the Big 12 this year said ...

Texas vs. the Nation College All Star Game

You all may be aware of this already but in case you are not Ben will represent SMU this Saturday in this game. Gene Stallings is the head coach for Team Texas and Buddy Ryan for the Nation. Ben will play left guard and perhaps some center and will have his SMU # (66). CSTV at 4:00pm CST (channel ...

Poynter again; I am not going to be a "regular" on here as I think it is inappropriate to do so while my son is playing. But I must say I am touched by "Swamp Gas" coming to SMU tomorrow to CHEER on the MUSTANGS at the Chapel and the game. Also, thanks to all in advance who will be there Saturday. I ...

SUPPORT FOR THE PLAYERS

I do not take the time to read ponyfans every day; in fact some weeks get by without having a read. Had a chance to check in this week and can see it has now become a popular pastime to knock most everything related to SMU Football. I do not know many of you long term posters but I do sense that ...

The plan is to secure seats together as close to the Mustangs as possible (maybe in sections R/S/T), so please come on in and ...

The Team will exit Perkins Chapel about 4:20pm today. We expect these young men to pick their business up and get after it today and we need to do the same! See you at Perkins.

TEAM WALK ACROSS BOULEVARD

This came up in an earlier thread but now that we are 30 hours or so pre-game let's really sound the Mustang Nation alarm on this one! I know the regulars on this Board, LOVE their MUSTANGS, and can convince a large number of Boulevard patrons to call "time out" tomorrow around 12:15 and walk down ...
