Re: Fran out at Texas State
If only it was true. We alumni at Texas State also have our on June Jones style cross to bear. I played at Texas State and my kids go to SMU. I've been blessed to follow 2 teams that have been brutal to watch. At least Chad Morris has begun to right the SMU ship.

Re: One word describes the past couple of weeks on the hillt
Since a good chunk of my change went to put my kids through school at SMU I have become a big fan. I was lucky enough to play for 2 great college coaches, Grant Teaff at Baylor and Jim Wacker at Texas State. I transferred to Texas State as Wacker arrived. The first year was not good. He had to get ...

Re: Is anyone buying season tickets?
Have purchased 4 season tickets for the last 4 years my daughter went to SMU. Enjoyed my time and have continued my seats again. My daughter will be in grad school at UT and will make the drive with me for the weekend home games.

Re: Spotlite on Claude Mathis
Claude is a great guy. He is a small town guy that has been successful everywhere he's been, as a coach and as a player. This guy was one of the best running backs in the country during his playing days at SWTSU. He is intense and knows only how to win. Was very glad to see coach Morris coax him ...

Re: Social Media Game
Coach Morris is a dad with a daughter that just graduated from high school. I guarantee he understands social media and is making sure everyone else connected with the football program does as well.

Re: NEW DL Coach
This guy played and coached with Jim Wacker. This guy comes from the same mold filled with enthusiasm for the game as Wacker. He's a great hire and will motivate the players to be better than they though they could be.

Re: Outsiders perspective
Good deal. Hey is Texas St with their 7th win going to get a bowl game. I think there is an opening in Ft Worth right against Houston.
I noticed that great Georgia Southern team 8-0 Conference Champs didn't get a waiver from the NCAA. I know there are some advantages for a transitioning team but ...

Re: Outsiders perspective
As another outsider who has kids that go to SMU, you can't believe how good a guy SMU got for their head coach. I was a scholarship athlete at Texas State and have multiple rings from football titles. I played for an unbelievable head coach in Jim Wacker. His enthusiasm and attitude translated to ...

Re: Houston attendance?
Spoke to the head man at the Dickey's stand in the north end zone and he said that they were told to only expect about 1500 for the game hence their lack of product. He was surprised so many were at the game and was slightly upset they got bad info.

Re: The Final TD
The Field Judge standing at the corner pylon had that receiver as his key all the way in CCA mechanics. Definitely OPI. He just didn't have the guts to make the call. Should have replayed the down with it being 4th and goal from the 19 after penalty enforcement. Watching from my seat in the opposite ...

Herman has been successful at Texas State, Rice, and Iowa State as a coordinator. None of those schools were blessed with many stars recruits and they competed well with the players they could get.

Re: More Beasley tweets
This thread has been fun to read. Many of the complaints that PF's have concerning their football program and spectators are similar to my alma mater SWT/Texas State. It's all about what is going to take to get to the next level. With my kids in school at SMU I have become a fan and season ticket ...
