Leota vs. Griffin

Having seen them play twice this year, I think Leota is the better choice of the two.

Griffin is physically very imposing but he takes a lot of plays off. If they ran right at him he would of course make the play, but couldn't really pursue anything laterally.

Leota brings it on every down ...

Its too bad that only 8,000 Arkansas fans will be able to attend any future games in Tulsa with a capacity of 26,000. I predict if Tulsa wants to play anybody decent at home they are going to have to increase capacity of their remodeled stadium.

My guess is Arkansas will never travel to Tulsa ...

UNT inferiority complex never ceases to amaze

m

Here's an interesting thread on the biggest high school football website in Texas.

It starts out as a discussion about the impact of June Jones' hire on Todd Dodge's ability to resurrect UNT. Of course, it ends up being a debate in which the UNT grads and a few Southlake Carroll ...

I watched Bo Mitchell grow as a QB over the past two years in comparison to Andrew Luck, the #1 QB in the state and #4 in the nation, who is headed to Stanford.

Mitchell is a late bloomer. He started as a junior but was basically letting Katy's awesome running game carry the load. Towards the end ...

An article in the Houston Chronicle today featuring T-Rob said he had narrowed it to BC and Wake Forest.

I saw this kid in a playoff game a couple of months ago and he has the kind of gamebreaking speed that we need out on the edge.

Too bad. The kid is truly interested in academics and is ...

Assuming Tech scores 70 of them, maybe.

Don't think this will be an instant turnaround. Haven't SMU fans learned the hard way to plan for the worst and hope for the best?

Why abandon your argument?

Trinity sent at least 4 players to D1a last year, and 3 the year before that. Granted they aren't all Tongan but still, it's a resource/connection/asset that shouldn't be dismissed so easily.

Also, does SMU have a "Ten and One Club" ?

You know, an organization of Dallasites from other universities who would like to see SMU win "almost" every game?

We have a base of roughly 10,000 fans. I believe June Jones' brand of football will cement that base to attend the games.

That leaves us 20,000 seats to sell, using creative marketing approaches to fill seats until the quality of the football product is sufficient to sell 30,000 seats. That would ...

Coach Jones,

Welcome to the Hilltop!

The alumni are by and large ecstatic to have you with us. We know that within two to three years the Mustangs will be restored to our rightful place of prominence in college football generally, and dominance of Conference USA.

We hope and trust that your ...

IF there is a press conference today, it can only mean Jones. Unless, of course, we have had Fran, Coker, and Barnett sitting in a hotel out on Harry Hines somewhere for a month!

If the Fran fallback deal was done, he can easily get to Dallas by 3pm -- it's just a three hour drive from College ...

Setting up to be a pretty humiliating day for SMU.

What else is new?

but will be a great day for the Tigers

Hopefully...I've got a nervous feeling, though.

Figures I get tix to go watch my second (and only other) favorite team play for a NC and all I will be thinking about is "What is ...

Martz is done as an NFL head coach, but I think he would be a more than intriguing hire. I see him like a Pete Carroll. Seriously, there can't be a soul out there who was like -yeah, wow, USC did an amazing job hiring that Carroll washout.

Hehe.

And that turned out pretty okay, huh?
