There was a nice sized group plus part of the band that met the team. It appeared to be primarily older alums and other athletes with a few students. The players seemed very appreciative and were all smiles which made it completely worthwhile to go.

What I was told, was that the Houston hotel rooms were reserved in advance by Texas high school football teams which are higher profile, better organized, and have much larger fan bases than SMU football, at this point.

And I might add...the team looked very sharp on Friday in their blue warm ups with red shirts...all that I encountered were well spoken and very polite...great representatives for our university...I think it's sometimes easy to lose sight that there are actually young men...real people...behind ...
