Re: Our First Commit for 2013

This showed up in my google reader for some reason.

Said Temple coach Mike Spradlin: "He plays with a nasty attitude, which is what you're looking for."

Re: WVU Settlement?

Looks like $11M according to WV newspaper, too low to be real

$11 mil from West Virginia *plus* $9 mil from the Big 12

This apparently doesn't count the $5 mil that West Virginia already paid the Big East.

Plus West Virginia has to find a school to join the Big East in 2012, with West Virginia ...

Re: Jason Phillips

if you read June's quotes he almost sounds receptive to considering some of the nuances UH used in their offense-not going to hold my breath but itwould be great to add different tempo.

When JJ was comfortable with Colt Brennan's knowledge of the offense, he had Hawaii run a no-huddle offense ...

Re: Jason Phillips

Ok this looks like a great hire and glad to see we are getting a solid Texas based coach.

Question I have is where does he fit.

Reinbold - WR
Saun - RB / Line
Morrison - QB

Not sure how this plays out really.

Didn't Reinebold coach RB's at Hawaii? If so, JP takes WR, Suan stays with the OL ...

Re: Reinebold left SMU?

Garret:

Three said Sun God left SMU, but JJ said he didn't. So I guess he didn't.

I got an update. I was looking for more information since that report came out and it has been updated. I did a quick scan here and didn't see any indication that Reinebold had left, which is why I posted my ...

Reinebold left SMU?

Does this tie into Jason Phillips being hired at SMU? Did Reinebold meet with Chow yesterday after he got off the plane?

It appears that Jeff Reinebold is no longer on the SMU staff.

Re: 8-4 should land us in a better bowl than last year

Hawaii only needs one more win to be bowl eligible and they have Tulane in three weeks at home. Don't have numbers on viewers for the Ticket City bowl, but Hawaii Bowl beats out all other possible bowls in number of viewers, and the added hype of June facing his old team should increase ratings ...

Re: SI Bowl Projections: SMU in AFB vs BYU

If the game sellouts but SMU sells only 2,000 tickets from its alottment does CUSA have to pay for 8,000 tickets? That could be a factor in sending SMU. But has Hawaii sold out recently-I thought attendance was pretty mediocre.

Yes, CUSA has to pay for any of the 10k tickets that aren't sold from ...

Re: SI Bowl Projections: SMU in AFB vs BYU

I'm guessing that JJ has the connections to get SMU in the Hawaii Bowl when the alternative is Marshall.

Isn't it all left to CUSA at the end of the day? If Hawaii plays in the Hawaii bowl then they are already guaranteed a full house. Maybe they prefer to have a bigger crowd at the AFB because ...

Re: Air Force thinking about staying in MWC?

Would SDSU be Football only?? I would think so, but I haven't heard either way.

SDSU's AD has been talking about SDSU being *football-only* to the Big East. SDSU would put their other teams in the Big West...SDSU can take a bus to every Big West school except for Hawaii, and Hawaii will pay for ...

Re: June speaks on SMU/Hawaii in Hawaii Bowl

If Hawaii (now 5-4) doesn't make it to the Hawaii Bowl, what bowl will SMU go to?

That is a real concern for Hawaii fans after losses to UNLV, San Jose State, and now Utah State. Hawaii needs to win 2 more games and at least has Tulane in Hawaii for what should be 1 win...but the team has lost a ...

ESPN here has him as the top overall recruit in Arkansas, and only 1 of 3 recruits that are 4-star in the state of Arkansas.

New Orleans newspaper article about SMU

SMU has embarked on a $60 million plan to build new facilities for athletics and improve existing ones. Jones said plans are now in place to build an indoor football practice facility similar to what LSU has on campus.

Re: Any Word From The Boise Meeting?

Six western schools? I count:

Air Force Falcons
Boise State Broncos
Houston Cougars
SMU Mustangs

So, if BYU is #5, who is number six, if all are western schools? Presumbably it is Louisville if they are pushed to the West, while the East is set with CT, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Navy, USF and UCF ...
