SMU's last appearance in the Hawai'i Bowl was the largest margin of victory in ALL bowl games played in 2009. Will history repeat itself?

During tonight's segment of DFW Sports Day on Fox Sports Southwest, Kevin Sherrington (Dallas Morning News) picked SMU to win the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl.

SMU has not scheduled, played and beaten Texas...yet.

I don't really think Texas pride in Tex-Mex became a real thing until maybe the 1970s as the market for Hispanic Food became more popular. In the 1960s there was El Chico and the superior quality of the Martinez family at El Fenix-but I don't remember there being a bunch of well known competitors ...

Can't argue with your last paragraph. SMU's going to need a Kilff Kingsbury-type coach and a LaDanian Tomlinson-type player, I guess. And more than just billboards and a few TV spots here and there.
