I don't know much about Willie Fritz's tenure at Sam Houston, but he did an incredible job at Blinn College. The BOT of Blinn isn't very supportive (they play their games at our less than ideal high school stadium), but he managed to win two national championships there.

Aledo is quite a team. I didn't think Brenham was going to win district, much less get to state. There's so much talent in the D-FW metroplex - and June is just hanging out, thinking they'll come to him.

It seems you had to win your conference or be in the top 20 to get a bowl invitation back then. Even the lesser bowls, like the Bluebonnet, could be picky.

It was nothing like today where if you win 6 games you get invited .... somewhere.

This is the difference between a school that wants to compete and win, versus one that just wants to survive. And only by doing the bare minimum.

If he has decent offers that he likes-it would not be smart at all for him to go to JUCO. Newton got kicked out of Florida after being involved in a theft so he had to go to JUCO. This kid doesn't have to go JUCO. If he has a good offer he can immediately transfer and take part of speing proctice ...

I think he should come to Blinn for a year, like Cam Newton. Then transfer to a D1 school, like Cam Newton.

i was happy to see both of them there and to hear them both talking positively about the program. We need all the help we can get - especially after today's performance.

I thought we played better against Tech and TCU than we did against Army. I really don't get why the team didn't improve as the year went on but seemed to become more and more inconsistent.

There's really no way to spin this game to the good, in my opinion, and I'm usually an optimist.
