Re: DEMENT
I don't want Jim to leave ever. And I'm certainly not trying to spread "Copeland is leaving" talk. But Copeland is such an outstanding administrator that he will always have his name around most AD openings. As much as I bleed red and blue, there are better AD jobs than the one here on the hilltop ...

Re: DEMENT
Copeland is an outstanding administrator. And yes, he ceratinly has the capacity for another big move. Will he leave, nobody can know for sure. You never know what opportunities will arise in the future. He certainly has a good deal going here...he needn't ever leave. I'm not Jim, so I can't say ...

Re: Coaches??????
Tubbs is a great asset in that he is good at recruiting in those areas where Sasser and Q were brought up. If there was a popularity contest on the team, Tubbs would easily win that contest. That doesn't mean he should take over head coaching duties for the Mustangs

Re: DEMENT
I'll grant your request for a basketball conversation...
To begin, moving to Tulane would be a lateral move, at best, to a much less attractive living environment than Dement has here in Dallas. Hell, what wouldn't suprise me at all is whether Copeland or Dement will be the first to leave ...

Re: Athletic marketing
I think that would be an outstanding idea. Across the Street is not the most fancy place, but it can hold well over 2,000 people, which is much larger than any venue near campus. Any person who;s been to TX/Ou weekend can attest to that.

To Horseshoe:
Across The Street is 10 1/2 years old.
What year were you in the dorms?
No, my initials are not S.K.

Re: Athletic marketing
I know the Green Elephant has always been very SMU friendly. They were sending busses to the Cotton Bowl on gamedays, so that is to be applauded. As an owner of the Across The Street Bar, I can assure you that my establishment will be decked out in red & blue for before 9-2-2000 and afterwards ...
Re: W/L Q&A
Hoping and praying for better, but I was on the nose for the last two seasons records:
2000: 5-7
I really hope I'm wrong.

Re: Thoughts On Sasser going pro?
Exactly...
We'll see at around 3:45pm whether he stays or goes. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see he obviously wants to get the hell out of here...otherwise he would not be hanging until the literal last minute

Re: future schedules
Unfortunately, we are a little bit behind the stature of the Aggie Football program. They probably have a little easier time of scheduling than we do at this point. Or, to be more blunt, people aren't lining up to play us in football, or basketball. That's kind of a good thing in some ways. We can ...

Re: future schedules
You would be correct. i think it's great that a school like North Carolina is going to be a future OOC opponent. There's a few other suprises in the bag as well.

Gameday captains are a good idea. It also serves as a possible barrier if something untoward was to happen to a season captain.

Actuslly, Coach Cavan is very high on Luker and on McCown. This isn't really an area of extreme need. (Look at the secondary)

Re: Favorite Mascots?
Wait...My big sister went to St. Louis when I was still a young high school lad and she acquired me a hat with a Billiken on it. I was told it was a fictional animal. It didn't have arms or legs, really...it was kinda like a puffball with big blue eyes and a baseball cap. It had a tail too. I don't ...

The Tree...definitely the Tree.
Or maybe the Billiken from St. Louis. Of course, does anybody here know what a Billiken is? I do...
