IPFs are probably the single most misunderstood facilities in college football.
In a weird way, an IPF has nothing to do with helping the current team... they're about recruiting.
My take on an IPF at SMU is that it's not even worth building one unless we're willing to commit the space and about $30-40 million to build one the right way. I'm talking full field, football weight room, locker room, coaches' offices, training facilities, etc all under one roof and done in a way that gives a "Wow!" factor when recruits step in the door.
