What happened to that guy Mason hired that used to coach at Florida? They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
You are such a hypocrite. He is the only division 1 caliber player on this team yet you still find a way to bash him. If this was a thread about him in recruiting you would be making references to all of his offers WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
The strength coach from Hawaii probably hasn't helped either Peruna is my mascot!
Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
You are bringing up stats, but they are kind of hollow when you are defending against these horrible AAC offenses. Who are the good AAC defensive teams? The UCF team that gave up 39 to uconn last week?
Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
So both the defenses and the offenses in the AAC are horrible? They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Davis is a good spread option QBIf he is to start and be effective he must learn to throw. He is a far below average passer on the average. He can hit one brilliant pass then miss the next five simple short throws and not even be close to the receiver.
Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
He has had a separated shoulder since the Baylor game. That would explain some throwing problems. He looked better today even though his shoulder is not 100%. As he gets more reps in practice and his shoulder gets better he will get better. Let's give him a chance before final judgements area made. 21-32 today-which is 66%-better rethink what you said
Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
Exactly what I was thinking. Stallion sure hates him some Davis. To say this kid can't be very effective in a real spread option offense is to completely ignore what we just witnessed today. Stop with all the complaints about him being the worst passer in the world. Remember, 80% of what he is still trying to run is June's BS offense and he was still trying to complete June's 3 yard outs all day. Yes, he had one bad throw right to the LB on the outside, but other than that you are way off base. He can't find receivers because this scheme sucks as well as 90% of these mighty midgets that can't get open. He's no Johnny Football but if Morris or Herman come to town you can bet he will be our starting QB next year and they will appreciate the opportunity to work with him.
Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
True, he's going to have to play a lot better to beat our upcoming opponents. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
Both sides of the line have the same problem. The common thread is strength and conditioning.
Re: Davis is a good spread option QBMy complaint with him is that in his 3rd year as a college QB on about 25 passing plays he didn't know where to throw the ball -that is not acceptable. 3 Turnovers isn't going to win many games either. The offensive line wasn't any worse today than it was in any other game this year. A decent defense will spy the QB and shut down this scrambling. Kid just doesn't know what to do with the ball in the passing game I think he's an NFL athlete without question-at some other position

The O Line had more jail breaks today than any other time I have seen them. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Davis is a good spread option QBNo it didn't-the QB just didn't get the ball off in the time he's supposed to. You get the ball out in 3 seconds and you don't have a problem. When you don't get it off in 4 seconds he checks out and just does what he naturally does best-run. You really think Tulsa's defensive rush is better than the other 7 teams we've played?

Re: Davis is a good spread option QB
Common theme is low talent levels not strength and conditioning. The team has had the same strength and conditioning coach for the last few years and you have not complained. This is on bad recruiting period no matter how you try to deflect the blame. Last edited by Rebel10 on Sat Nov 08, 2014 8:59 pm, edited 1 time in total.
