Re: OT - Article on KliffI think Tuberville jumped ship because he knew what he had coming talent wise. Now Kingsbury is having deal with it while Tuberville is now at Cincinnati.

Kind of like JJ tried to
Re: OT - Article on KliffI suppose its not helpful if your defensive coordinator turns out to be a drunk. . .and a vindictive drunk at that. Wow.
I actually hadn't heard about that until this article. Are those allegations (showing up drunk and then giving away signals after being fired) disputed?

From what it looks like yes, but Tuberville was able to pull and off so that the heat fell on Kingsbury. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: OT - Article on Kliff
Exactly, Kingsbury seems like a very bright guy in his role as OC. But, the issues with the defense and his decision making (Mayfield) are troubling. While I am not opposed to hiring a guy without HC experience, we need more than a brilliant OC. We need a brilliant OC, a brilliant DC, and a great staff to support both of them. To get that, we need a guy who has been around the block at a couple of different places. We need a guy who has coached with and against other good coaches. We need a guy who other good, young coaches think will succeed (allowing them to move up the ranks). For that reason, I don't think a guy like Spavital (TAMU's OC) is the right guy for SMU. Let's look at OSU's OC Tom Herman. Hermann has coached at Texas, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Rice, Iowa State, and Ohio State. While he was OC at Rice, they went to a bowl for the first time since 1954. While Urban Meyer is certainly important at OSU, Herman's offenses (especially the QB's) have thrived since under his watch. He is ready for a HC job. Re: OT - Article on Kliff
Agree 100% on Herman and have been saying it all along. Prefer him over Morris because of his overall body of work and temperament. Hopefully they really investigate and interview their top 3-4 candidates before just blindly going all in on one guy.
