Most Outscored FBS Teams in History (Through 10 Games)

Postby novasmu » Sat Nov 22, 2014 3:28 pm

List of most outscored college teams in history (through 10 games in a season) that currently play in the FBS:

Team PF - PA Difference
1916 SMU Mustangs 18 – 446 [428]
1993 Temple Owls 97 – 499 [402]
1981 Northwestern Wildcats 70 – 456 [386]
2005 Temple Owls 90 – 460 [370]
2008 Washington State Cougars 139 – 502 [363]
1950 Virginia Tech Hokies 72 – 430 [358]
2014 SMU Mustangs 97 – 441 [344]
1988 New Mexico Lobos 136 – 477 [341]
1973 UTEP Miners 142 – 481 [339]
1997 Louisiana Ragin Cajuns 152 – 490 [338]

This list was compiled from the information available at http://www.jhowell.net/cf/scores/byname.htm.

Two more 46 point losses, like this one, and the 2014 SMU team will have the record.

When this started I thought it was pretty funny and it would just kind of go away.

I can't believe we are through 10 games and it is still relevant.

Just shocking on so many levels.

If UCF hadn't backed off after that 1st quarter, we might still have a chance of beating that all-time record and average defeat margin of 43 points. We were right there just 3 weeks ago

Yeah, we needed a couple of those field goals to be TDs.

The problem is we left it somewhere near the 37 yard line, and we showed our spleen at the 25. I sure hoped someone picked them up, we'll need 'em...

These losing seasons will not attract future students who love football.
