Students are mostly on break. The rest of the crowd deserves more criticism. The crowd acts like an NBA crowd not to mention the concourse social club. 50% in their seats at start of halftime. Have some pride in your team

Concourse social club was ridiculous tonight.

Second best crowd attendance of the year? To be fair, the team was only down 2-1 and then cruised. When there was some momentum with a dunk and steal, Memphis seemed to get a block or something. The energy level never went to a higher level because it wasn't a nailbiter and Memphis wasn't sinking a lot of shots.

I thought it was a good thing that exhibition game happened when it did, and MK is coming back (but still not looking like an NBA player), big O was solid again and so was Keith. Hopefully this was Nic Moore's off night.

Another thing that struck me tonight was that there was no Memphis crowd. You remember in the Doherty years where Memphis would have about 40% of the crowd and all those crazy fans would be tricked up with flashing lights? They're probably a bit down on Pastner but you have to have a very solid DFW base to infiltrate Moody in a significant way.

I fault the students for nothing. The neon shirt brigade stands in front of our student section staring down the crowd the entire game. What the hell is that?

The Mob was as awful as its been all season and that's not changing.
This did answer a question I had coming in - and that's our crowd has gone back to sitting on its hands and being passive. This was one of the marquee home games of the season and there was zero energy in the red and blue seats.
I've pretty much accepted the only time Moody is getting rowdy this year is for the Saturday night game vs UCONN.

They literally couldn't find a fan to give the Fan of the Game Award. $100. Finally just gave it to a girl with a polite wave. I would have given it to the Dancin' Red Head from the First Half. SShe was at least have a good time-but her friends were shy

Yeah, that was kind of embarrassing, and a good representation of the crowd last night to be honest.

I can't criticize b/c I haven't been to a game, but I have made an observation. While pony ears look cute, IMO, it's a shame the crowd doesn't clap & sing words to the Pony Battle Cry. I would think they could get louder if they did this since pony ears don't make a sound.

Although last night was one of the bigger crowds of the year, it was by far the quietest. The mob looked like a bunch of goons

The goons are the neon brigade standing in front and to the sides of our student sections. The job description must be that you have to be mean looking and a former shepherd. I really believe this has an effect on student enthusiasm.

By the way, anybody else catch the awkward moment when one of the members of the neon brigade had a oncourt territory dispute with one of the refs near the SMU bench? Neither was going to move for the other. They were shoulder to shoulder. I thought they were going to throw down.

So if the neon brigade is preventing students from yelling just by looking at them, then you have proved my point. The mob are a bunch of pansies.

Bring the fraternities back.

Everyone needs to chill out. People need to realize rush week isn't until next week. Which means that greeks aren't getting back until the middle of next week, and the rest of the student body doesn't get back until the week after that. We haven't established enough basketball tradition for students to fly home from their Whistler or Bahamas getaways early to catch josh Pasthner's growing belly. Those students that were there last night are Dallas natives, or kids that don't have high school friends.
