Victories over Temple (Road) and UCONN make them a contender
Yeah I know their history - they kicked our asses repeatedly while I was a student. I just don't understand how they are able to recruit and build the talent.

What makes them good is they have found a way to get great up and coming coaches, write favorable contracts so that when they leave they can use the buyout to help fund the next guy.
Nolan Richardson, Bill Self, Danny Manning in BBall. They don't throw around big contracts.
SMU hasn't been able to find quality coaches until LB and we hope Chad despite paying top dollar.

Wyoming (now ranked #25) has a big MWC game tonight at home vs. San Diego State. Would be nice to see them keep winning.

Doesn't effect us but Villanova is drilling a pretty good Xavier team.

Wyoming looks awful. No way they should be ranked. 12 points in 13 minutes...at home.
Check that...white boy for Wyoming just threw down a big dunk. I mean posterization...

He's not white, that is their best player. Nance Jr. is a force, we were lucky to shut him down.

Memphis leading Cincy 32-24 at Half in Memphis-that could be a big deal for SMU's chances

Second round pick in the NBA = not going to make it This guy did a pretty interesting (though not really surprising) analysis of 20 years worth of NBA picks. 70% of the guys taken with the first pick of the second round were bench fillers or straight cuts, and it goes generally down hill from there. The NBA really only needs about 20-25 new players every year. http://www.82games.com/nbadraftpicks.htm

Cincy with 17 turnovers-not easy to win on the road
