Not even close to the best restaurant. It has a good atmosphere especially if you want to be at a "scene". I can think of 3 steakhouses that are better before getting into non-steakhouses that are better.

I've eaten there a couple of times. Good food but definitely more popular because of its scene, very LA in that regard. I actually prefer the food at Capital Grille over Al's. As for another better restaurant in the neighborhood, Yutaka.

Burger: Rodeo Goat

BBQ: Pecan Lodge

The food at al Bernard's is good, I'm not knocking it, but it is not the best steakhouse in Dallas. @sacklunch I agree Javier's is really legit.

Haven't tried Knife yet. nick & Sams and Al B's are a tossup in my opinion. I think Pappas is overrated.

papas isn't that good.

Capital grille is actually really good. Als is great if you are old and divorced.
