He may not play out at TCU but he'll still make the NFL

Overreact much?

The criminal justice system in Bexar County will resolve this incident. Unless he has a history of violence (or seriously injured someone), he will probably get some sort of probation.

1 incident doesn't turn him into Rae Carruth.

If it was anyone else besides a police officer you would probably be right. I think he might get some jail time because of who he assaulted.

Clemson suspended 3 players for failing drug tests for their game today.

I hope he transfers to SMU.

I'm no TCU apologist, but this really stinks for them. Your QB and leader losing it like this is a huge black eye for the program. Kid obviously can't handle alcohol and fighting a cop is going to cost him big. I can't imagine Patterson playing him regardless of whether he is "available"

He's already suspended for the game. Its not even anything you think about.

And it sucks for them, but that is just hunky dory with me.

ponyte wrote:Kinda sad. Kid is out partying during bowl week. Probably the last night out without a curfew and some jerk starts words. Alcohol clouds the kids judgment and next thing he knows, his whole career is in jeopardy. It potroblay happens a lot more than we know and most the time the cops are cool about it. I have seen drunk athletes get out of hand (track and field, not football). The cops have to do what is necessary at the scene but then are cool about it at the police station. Guess Boykin went a bit too far

Article says he was at the hotel at midnight for a bed check, so it looks like he went home for curfew then headed back out.

Hanging around the wrong crowd-Highland Park kids with their fat wallets will get you in trouble every time

This free speech stuff and protecting these heckling cowards at bars and sporting events needs to go. We see it at sporting events especially where these punks know they can use the worst language imagineable and they are allowed to do it and add a pint of whiskey and it is worse. Hecklers and those using provocative language are the ones that should be facing the punishment they deserve...whether it be at the hands of the people they are provoking, the police are the stadium/bar establishment is up to debate.....like they used to do it in the good old days.

you're old school-like me-you cheer on your home team-not degrade the opponent. I hate the [deleted] who get off with the personal heckling of players/coaches-although it may have more of a place in Basketball but it still can go over the line. Its very high school-ish also known as Texas Tech-ish. You can create just as hostile an environment by cheering on your own team than you can heckling. NCAA has made efforts to address this in stadiums though

Did he really just say this free speech stuff needs to go?? That's a pretty big jump.

I agree heckling opposing players is bush league, but if you are drunk at a bar at 2:30 in the am - and the supposed Heisman candidate QB of the other team walks in also drunk - I can see how it might be too big a temptation to pass up.

Whoever did it was bush league, but probably just won the game for Oregon.

2 dumbest statements said in this board. Move to China or the middle east if you hate this free speech stuff.
