SMU definitely carried its weight in the conference this season even with an abysmal football season.

At one point some on the board thought that the AAC would only be a 1 or 2 bid conference. Getting 4 teams in is really good for the conference.

Pretty crazy that we would have had 5 if not for our ban.

If the bottom of the conference can stop being just pathetically awful, then this will continue to be a very good league that could routinely get 5 teams in, until it gets raided

I don't think so. If you count the play-in, AAC would have received 4 either way:
