As an SMU fan I love the hire for that very reason. I think we will be able to beat Baylor for recruits while we have Chad Morris and they have an outsider.

Scott Drew only had to recruit 5 guys, even 1 can carry a season. We are the poster child for how quick basketball can be turned around. And the poster child for how long it takes to turn a football program around when your coach stops recruiting or you don't have 2 recruiting classes.
I don't like the hire for Baylor as he's going to have a tough time recruiting, especially for the top kids. And I hope they give him at least 5 years. The next 2-3 will be rough for sure.
I am happy Anderson stays at Arkansas State. They have earned some stability. What I heard was that Oregon was also after Rhule. If true, Baylor must have opened the vault.
Feel bad for the Temple poster that visits the site. He was sympathetic that we were losing Morris and just as sure that Rhule was solid at Temple.

If he was offered the same as Morris then it's a fivefold increase in salary, before the no-state income tax thing kicks in. Hope he likes Waco.
Their recruiting class for '17 is done, save a couple of JUCO's and east coast kids. Completely different style of play, too, from what I can tell - be interesting to see if anybody else transfers out.

He was passed over by Maryland, Rutgers, Missouri, and Syracuse among others so I don't know which teams you are talking about in which he could do better. I guess he figured since he was passed over so much that he would give Baylor a try.
