We’d had to have opened the secretarial services to the entire student body, then we’d be okay. The fun thing is that the NCAA basically said sham courses for athletes are okay as long as anyone can “benefit” from them.

So it appears that the "big" thing they teased is a state wide branding campaign.

Look, if they had just waited until today and announced "We're Kicking Off a State Wide Branding Campaign" we all would have been happy with increased marketing, with no associated negative or "meh" feeling.

But by overhyping with an unnecessary vague tease, IMHO, they diminish the good vibe.

Hey I was pretty close. Just on a larger scale... I still think the blimp idea floating over these cities would have been pretty cool!

In a market as competitive as Dallas, you have to do both, even if you are winning. To say its just words is kinda stupid.

Pro teams that win plenty and other university teams that win plenty still have advertising budgets - we gotta keep SMU in the Dallas sports fan's share of mind, and at least in the conversation.
