Students, faculty, the press would never allow it to happen. Just no way.

Oh on the contrary, we would probably have a sellout crowd with protest signs and constant booing when we are on offense. lol

Being an SMU fan is difficult that's for certain. You know those methodists would sell their souls for 12 and 0 seasons. He was convicted without a jury for the rest of his life.

Tom Osborne Bobby Bowden Barry Switzer Lou Holtz I am not sure the godfather image would play as well in football as it did in basketball

Craddock will be a head coach sooner rather than later. Hire someone old and hold on to him as HCIW?
Bring in Mack with Craddock as HCIW would be great. Need to find a splash DC.

Craddock will follow his mentor

With our D woes Orlando seems the logical choice if we can get him.

Yep! And the team likes Traylor so you would still have a remnant of the offense if you make him OC.

I thought Wade Phillips would be on your list as well because of his Texas ties

- Sean Payton (he likes SMU, has Dallas roots, likes money, has 6 Mustangs on the Saints active roster)

Sean Payton isn't looking for work either, and won't be soon the way his season is going. Spurrier a/k/a OBC (Ol' Ball Coach) is the closest answer I've seen on this thread to "who is the LB hire?" question. At least if he succeeded he won't be lured away because he's young and moving on. I wish SMU could find the David Cutcliffe of this cycle. Who out there is a really good coach who's been hard done by by overexpectant programs (in Cutcliffe's case, it was Ole Miss).

Todd Graham and Kevin Sumlin, possibly Les Miles.

would love to have any of those 3 - in order; Sumlin, Miles, Graham. Would generate a real WOW factor. And I think our chances of getting any of them are pretty slim.
