Let’s be honest: his stay at SMU was fairly long by LB standards, and it worked out exactly as planned but for the fall-off in recruiting.mustangxc wrote:It really is a shame that SMU and Larry Brown did not mutually appreciate each other enough to make it work. IT was a phenomenal situation for both parties.

Anyone else remember way back when before the SMU coliseum was named for a donor that one suggestion was to name the building - or something - for Matty Bell?horsemanx wrote:We should have named half of the court after David Miller and half after Larry Brown.Charleston Pony wrote:Would be nice to see him back with the program if only as a consultant but that would undoubtedly have the NCAA sniffing at our door again.

So far as the court is concerned I am fine with naming it for another big contributor but if I named half of it for a BB coach it would be Doc Hayes.

That is not to say that LB should not be remembered in some way. One possibility would be the ticket offices - that might remind some people of the last time seats were a big deal and why.
