SMU Head Coach CandidatesModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: SMU Head Coach Candidatesare we implying that the lashlee deal fell through?
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
Nope
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
I am available for your apology.
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
I have made myself available for apologies.
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
This thread was premature and something that I would have done—at the time you did it—if I was trying to harm SMU. I guess you can remain available? Cheers and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
I still don't agree with one of our super fans sharing this information on a public SMU fan forum before one of our biggest games of the season, but given how everything has unfolded I take back my comment. I agree with Dukie that the thread was premature but you were proven right. Sorry for questioning your loyalty. The whole situation stinks!
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
All is good friend, just having a little fun. This has been done for weeks now. I almost did this thread a week or two ago
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
Thanks for the link. I’m sorry that it’s all true. Has a head coach anywhere at the FBS level ever left that school to directly join the biggest rival? Even including MBB, any example I can think of involves something in between (Saban, Pitino). Roy dumping Kansas for UNC was huge, but (1) not primary rival and (2) his alma mater. Embody calls this move exceedingly rare. I think it’s actually unprecedented.
Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
His ethics definitely are laid on the table, he has known for a month he was taking this job. Coinciding with our losing 3 of the last 4 games.
Re: SMU Head Coach CandidatesI just read that Skip Holtz is available.
Re: SMU Head Coach CandidatesIf they don’t get Lashlee then Garrett Riley would not have been a bad choice IMO. Former Oregon Coach Mark Helfrich would not be a bad choice to interview as well.
