Re: The SMU case for the CFP
Not if you are actually not a Miss or a her. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: The SMU case for the CFPIf every Big 10 and SEC teams lost every game from here until the end of conference championship games and SMU went undefeated and lost to Miami, SMU would be out.
The NCAA has set up a beauty pageant with self selected judges with the goal of the highest ratings on TV. Not the best teams. Anyone remember when SMU was 10-1 and was highly rank (1983)? Yes, unranked 4 loss Michigan was invited to the Sugar Bowl and SMU ended up in El Paso. Why? Ratings. We have to win out period. Then the NCAA can 't screw us.
Re: The SMU case for the CFP
I agree. It's pointless to even consider any other scenario. Also, maybe we should start paying a bunch of random people to watch SMU games on TV.
Re: The SMU case for the CFPWE need to be a lot more peoples "Step Team" and get more eyes on our games.
The DALLAS team is winning eyes. Winning gets eyes also! Go Mustangs Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: The SMU case for the CFPAs Phillips pointed out on the ACC show, its helping us that the Cowboys suck this year.

Re: The SMU case for the CFP
Where are you seeing that they are projecting a Cal win? That doesn't seem likely. We still have a lot of motivation to win the next game.
Re: The SMU case for the CFPI believe Dukie means they are assuming that we will have a a win against Cal -
Re: The SMU case for the CFP
oh that makes more sense.
Re: The SMU case for the CFPIt doesn't help that BYU has now lost 2 games but any "expert" who takes a closer look at SMU's season would see that our early season struggles were BEFORE Lashlee made the decision to go with Kevin Jennings and it's pretty obvious what that change has done for this team. Our depth is definitely being tested this time of year but that is the case with a lot of teams right now. That's what makes this winning streak that much more impressive.
Re: The SMU case for the CFP
I think the committee also knows that if we were to play them now, we would be heavily favored. We are a completely different team now.
Re: The SMU case for the CFP
Right. We lose to Cal then zero chance of an at-large bid.
