Re: Flying to Penn StateAdd Latrobe (LBE) to the airport list. It's a small airport, but only 108 miles from State College.
Re: Flying to Penn StateSMU should start a charter flights
We have a long track record of supporting various collegiate teams, including serving as the official private jet partner of SMU Athletics. https://statusjet.com/collegiate-travel/ Mustang from India
Re: Flying to Penn StateWe won’t make this game but hopefully SMU can block rooms and get shuttle buses to take fans to & from the game.
Re: Flying to Penn StateHopefully SMU can fill it's 3,500 seats with folks wearing red or blue as that tiny little section will stand out on TV against almost 100,000 PSU fans wearing white. As Coach Lashlee and so many others have said, we will need to start fast and play a complete game to win in Happy Valley. I just hope the weather is decent and the track is fast so we can display our team speed that has gotten us this far.
Re: Flying to Penn State
NCAA mandated that home teams only have to allot 3500 tickets to visiting teams (including bands). 1000 have to be in lower bowl availability and others can be anywhere else they want. Lowest get in ticket prices are $100 for all venues.
Re: Flying to Penn StateSaw this on smumustangs.com:
https://onlocationexp.com/r/smu-mustang ... harrisburg)-pkg-29380 I also called ticket office to find out about tailgate tickets for those of us who are more local. They are working on it.
Re: Flying to Penn Statehow the F they get 100+K to that town is beyond me. this place is so out of the way it's unreal
Re: Flying to Penn State
Well over 40,000 students in a town of 40,000 where attending Penn State games is the thing to do. Not unlike Clemson with over 20,000 students in a town of less than 20,000 full time residents and they can draw over 80,000. Their alumni and fans travel well
Re: Flying to Penn StateWhen I went there for the game in 1978, there were acres of tailgates with RV's, sausages grilling (PA is a sausage state). So, I suspect many of their fans bring their RV's to the game, park there overnight either before or after the game or both, and then head home. That way finding a hotel is unnecessary. Sort of like going to College Station.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Flying to Penn State
Or like Oxford, Mississippi and probably a lot of other "college towns" in the middle of nowhere
Re: Flying to Penn State
I don’t think they open lots until 7am for noon games unfortunately.
Re: Flying to Penn StateI am reading from my small group of renting a 30 passenger plane. Leaving love at 7.30 going to state college for the game and flying home with arrival back at love 7.pm.
