Re: Miami transfer RB Chris Johnson Jr. has Committed to SMU
RB room will be interesting next year with a mix of young guys and veterans trying to come back from injuries. One thing for certain is that depth is very much a necessity as is rebuilding the OL with the same mix of youngsters and veterans. Looks like this staff is right on target so far as we wait to hear about backfilling the DL lossesindianmustang wrote:https://x.com/Hayesfawcett3/status/1869853497270907293

Committed:
D.J. Warner
Defensive end / edge
6-4 / 235
Goodyear (Kansas), Arizona
Chose SMU over Missouri, among others, and reported offers out of high school from Oregon, Washington, Texas, Ohio State, Oregon State, Arizona, Michigan, Arizona State, Idaho State, Iowa State, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, Northern Arizona, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Washington State
High school recruiting profile:
Checked in at 6-foot-3, 217 pounds with 33-inch arms at the All-American Bowl. Owns an impressive multi-sport profile highlighted by 45-8.75 feet Shot Put and 41-2 feet Triple Jump personal bests which directly translate to his upper and lower body explosiveness on tape. Should be viewed as a day one Big 12 contributor who could eventually become an NFL Draft selection.
H.S. Athletic Background

2023: Set personal bests of 45-8.75 feet in the Shot Put and 41-2 feet in the Triple Jump both of which were good enough to qualify for the AIA Division II State Championships.

Look how many of the top recruiting staffs in the country saw talent in Warner. I wonder if this could be a real steal for us.
