I'm not impressed with our comparison to JS. But that Sunbelt comparison to the Elves is spot on. The Clemson comparison ain't bad either.

Clemson comparison was dead-on, as was UAB, Texas and UCLA.
Great stuff, Dirty Bird.
And isn't that one of the nicknames someone suggested for Coach Doherty?

another blogger that matches college football teams w/ rap artists...
SMU = MC Hammer
Parlayed a surprising run of success into an enormous facility they couldn't possibly continue to fill. Suffered so-called "death penalties" when the money finally ran out. Now mostly known for their religious wheelings and dealings.

Either that person has intimate knowledge of both college football and the Simpson's or they did their homework. Either way, those were pretty spot-on.

Without question.
Still pretty funny, though!

Hah!
The aTm one made me laugh outloud, as Homer would say ........"It's funny because its true"...
Texas A&M: Disco Stu Once upon a time, both Stu and TAMU were forces to be reckoned with. Now they are sad shells of their former selves, regarded mostly with head-shaking derision.

I re-read the SMU entry and came across the word cromulence. I've never heard that particular word before so I looked it up. I'm guessing he was going for cromulent, since that is how I originally read it and it’s the only word remotely close to what he was intending. Doesn't really have any bearing on the overall entry which is spot on, I just don't like people who make up words

Cromulent is from the Simpson's episode where they learn all about Jebediah Springfield.

Looks like somebody got the Simpsons box set for his birthday.
I got the "emibiggened" reference, but I'm not familiar with cromulence (cromulent, which you said is from the Simpsons is a real word meaning average or fine, cromulence is the made up word).

Same episode, I'm pretty sure.
