Fort Worth BowlModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower
I guess the one thing that the Toads are forgetting here is that they are 3rd in the freaking Mountain West. I don't care if you upset Ohio State and Texas this year if you were unable to beat any school from Utah. You are unranked and have managed to let this great opportunity pass you by. You plau in a conference that has the core of their fans in the following states:
True, but BYU should beat Utah which would put us in sole possession of 2nd place. (Not discounting that we dropped the ball against Utah.) As for a TCU-SMU matchup, I think it would do very well across the state of TX (and OK). LIke it or not, TCU has built up some street cred with the Big 12 south and I think a lot of these fans would tune in to see two former SWC schools. I think a lot of casual Big 12 south fans would want to see if SMU is for real/have they turned the corner/etc.
Awesome, so we have a committee member of the Ponsettia Bowl with us. So who are the candidates to play TCU in your bowl? How long have you been a committee member? What happened to the Holiday Bowl moniker? When will you make this news public to the likes of the Dallas Morning News, the San Diego Hang Ten Magazine, and Entertainment Tonight?
I agree with Stallion on this. I was one of the bitchers at the time. I understand TCU's frustration but at the same time, you administration brought it on yourselves by moving to the MWC. What was their logic in doing that anyway? I have never understood that.
So far the bowl tie-ins have been the only drawback to the MWC. Otherwise it has been a breath of fresh air...
That's good, because we also have a friend of a friend of a cousin of a neighbor of a friend of someone's housekeeper who once met someone from the NO Bowl committee in the other thread. Why don't the major news outlets just read ponyfans?
Yeah, bowl tie-ins aren't a big deal. Especially when you can enjoy a roadtrip to New Mexico, or Utah.
Every MWC road game destination is more appealing than Tulsa, Houston, New Orleans (Today) and El Paso. So you have to buy a few plane tickets, at least you'll enjoy the final destination...
A breath of fresh air in what respect? You just didn't like the schools here in this part of the country?
You're kidding, right? Tulsa - Southwest Airlines non-stop Houston - SWA non-stop New Orleans - SWA non-stop El Paso - SWA non-stop All around $39-54 each way? We can see MORE games at way less than 1/2 the price you pay to fly out west. ![]()
He wasn't talking price or ease of travel. He said the destinations were more enjoyable. I don't care either way.

For the froggie that pointed out the BIG XII teams yall beat, what happendend after yall beat OU and after yall beat Texas Tech???...A BIG FAT LOSS! ... yall can't beat a good team then lose to your rival or a conference team.
And what happened after you beat Texas Tech? Oh yeah, you didn't. And you followed that up with... a loss to North Texas State. I guess you guys are much better since you can lose to a good team then lose to your big area rival. Your bowl aspirations are cute and all, but what say you save this talk until you beat Rice and you actually have something to crow about?
Where did all your big wins get you? The chance to play at home against SMU. 10-2 doesn't look quiet as good now does it.

doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Deepellumfrog, I never said anything about us beating big named teams this year, my post was meant towards your other froggie friends on this board.
All they talked about was beating OU and beating Tech....then yall chocked....we weren't playing to beat tech were we playing not to get blown out. And as for UNT, they're not our rival and that game was a horrible sight for SMU fans.
