'08 Ad Campaign Idea: Voice says "SMU"...*a montage of Dickerson, James, the boulevard and finally JW throwing TD passes* "Yah Mo B There"
Personally, I didn't think "pay us money" (pony ^) was a very witty ad campaign, it's kinda just stating the goal of every ad campaign. I know, I know, Up arrow...supposedly alludes to the direction we are going...blah blah blah...but here's a first stab at something new for next year.

Students were using the expression "Pony Up" for two years ago. I think that is where the idea came from. Not funding raising implications.

Yeah, the Class of 2009 was selling wrist bands that said Pony Up! a few years ago.

So I guess everyone is hoping the Pony ^ rolls out for '08 also?
I thought the campaign was good in that it did a great job of getting people to pick their head up and pay attention to SMU ("what is that sign SAYING? SMU is not THAT way") and if it was a student saying in the past then props to Richards for doing their research, I hadn't heard it and I was there in '05. Still, I think we can do better. I guess that's the mission statement of this thread.

David: Hey, Paula. Paula: Yeah? David: I gotta tell you something. I'm really excited about it. Uh, for the first time, today, I woke up, I came to the store, and I - I feel confident to say to you that if you don't take this Michael McDonald DVD - that you've been playing for two years straight - off, I'm going to kill everyone in the store and put a bullet in my brain! Paula: David, what do you suggest we play? David: I don't care. Anything! I would rather - I would rather watch "Beautician And The Beast". I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothin' against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.

I have no idea what it means. I keep saying it "Yah Mo Be there" and still have no idea what it means. I think it is referring to Mo Vaughn speaking in third person about going to the SMU game.
