Heres's an idea though: What about Ole Miss? They are in the SEC, usually weak, but still give us credibility if we one. Further, travel time isn't bad. I remember when we played them in 98 and almost beat them. Either way, I just want to play some big tradional programs that are interesting. I really don't care who it is.
Ole Miss was a great home/home and I'd like to see them again. Our problem is finding a way to attract 32,000 (full price) paying customers. We are reaching a point where we can only get home games with other programs who can't attract flies. We've been fortunate to have TTech coming in here as often as they have.
I'm not going to argue with that. It helps my point, I mean if we already have 5 fourth tier situations scheduled that we can't avoid, why add more for are non-conferance games?
Dropping football isn't the answer. As a matter of fact, that's the WORST thing we could do. The problem has been a lack of commitment to excel. For far too long we've been not only accepting of mediocrity, we've encouraged it. Finally we have an AD in Orsini who is saying the right things and so far his actions have created some rays of hope. We just have to see how he delivers on this hire. At least for the first time in a long, long time I'm optimistic.

Sorry to get on my high horse. I'm overly sensitive to that kind of talk. And I hope you get baseball back. Didn't they drop that in the mid 70s?
