Wow, that blows my mind that any media outlet other than Kate would consider it news.

Interestingly enough, Kate doesn't actually count as a "media outlet." She's employed by one, but she's not one herself. Rest assured, however, that no matter who the new coach is, the DMN (Kate) will be there, the FWSTelegram might be there, our own PonyPride will be there, the Daily Campus will be there, some TV and radio stations will be there and the guys from the other site will be wandering around. If there's a real wow hire - along the lines of a Bowden, Davis, etc. - the DMN will add at least one columnist, and some local radio stations will send more than one. When Coach Doherty was hired, ESPN Radio and the ticket had several people each in attendance, and the DMN had Tim Cowlishaw and one other columnist - I forget who. A name coach will cause a similar reaction to a team winning games (see the Stars and Mavs when they got hot).

Bingo! I would think the name leaks to her on the way back from Memphis, it appears on the DMN website, story in Sunday's paper, and news conference on Monday or Tuesday.

I don't know nothing else to tell you. If you can't read then we are both at a loss. I love SMU sports and know we can do better, but not at the current rate the administration is taking us. We have traveled this same road for 20 years. What about that do you not understand. I may be the fool. I guess just add that to all the other names I have been called on this board. But Insane, I will tell you this. Word is getting out more and more about the blatant disregard to athletics by this administration. What do you think that will do/has done to recruiting.
