Interestingly enough, Kate doesn't actually count as a "media outlet." She's employed by one, but she's not one herself. Rest assured, however, that no matter who the new coach is, the DMN (Kate) will be there, the FWSTelegram might be there, our own PonyPride will be there, the Daily Campus will be there, some TV and radio stations will be there and the guys from the other site will be wandering around. If there's a real wow hire - along the lines of a Bowden, Davis, etc. - the DMN will add at least one columnist, and some local radio stations will send more than one. When Coach Doherty was hired, ESPN Radio and the ticket had several people each in attendance, and the DMN had Tim Cowlishaw and one other columnist - I forget who. A name coach will cause a similar reaction to a team winning games (see the Stars and Mavs when they got hot).
PonyPride and the Daily Campus do not count as media outlets.

After wading through that non-sense/non-answer, I will ask my question once again, why do you spend your time on a message board for a team who you think is the product of an "administration with a blatant disregard to athletics"? If you really believe it......then who is the fool?

I went to Milos tonight. I played 4 games of golden tee and did not do well in any of the games. But after some beers the waitress informed me that it was $2 jim beam night. So things got betterm quickly after that.

How does it usually work?
Once Orsini decides to go public with his choice what happens next?
Does he call a press conference an hour before he announces?
Or does he call the press conference a day before?
Also where will the press conference be? Will it be open to the public? What time of day is typical?
I know it really doesn't matter, but I just can't wait for the day.
To answer the question, this is how I expect it will work. Kate will be spoon-fed the story on who it will be the night before; that way she gets to "break" the story. Everything else will be scheduled the next day. I believe we will go from knowing nothing to knowing a lot in a very short period of time.

Bingo! I would think the name leaks to her on the way back from Memphis, it appears on the DMN website, story in Sunday's paper, and news conference on Monday or Tuesday.
Biggest splash you can get. No Cowboy news to compete. Caveat: if it is Johnson, they just might hold off until the Army-Navy game is played.

I don't know nothing else to tell you. If you can't read then we are both at a loss. I love SMU sports and know we can do better, but not at the current rate the administration is taking us. We have traveled this same road for 20 years. What about that do you not understand. I may be the fool. I guess just add that to all the other names I have been called on this board. But Insane, I will tell you this. Word is getting out more and more about the blatant disregard to athletics by this administration. What do you think that will do/has done to recruiting.

Someone from Arkansas. Figured you would catch that. I am from Arkansas brother. What is surprising is that we have a grammar checker from Arkansas? Just post or stay off the board, damn.

That would porbably also be true if it is Kragthorpe, Mumme, or Willingham, all names that have been mentioned that play after this weekend. (also Pete Carroll)
