I know you are an idiot for suggesting a Division 1AA Coach who would be 69 years old when he takes the field and was a failed bit in Texas 20 years ago at a State School.

exactly - Moor is about ready to retire. Let's at least get someone young and enthusiastic for this job. He will need that youthful energy.

The idea that a D-1 coach needs "personality" is extremely overrated. Bob Stoops has absolutely no personality. Fran, wow, his personality is just magnetic. George Welsh was literally famous for having no personal charisma. If star quality is the criteria for coaching D-1, why don't we hire Matthew McConaughey or somebody.
He's 66...why would he leave App. State? oh...perhaps...$$$!!! The opportunity to return SMU to a Top 25 program??? Finish his career in his home state of Texas? Retire as the coach that brought SMU back to glory?
O.K. Just thought I'd throw a name out there like everyone else has...nevermind. Next subject.
And obviously Stallion never actually met the man.

He was born in July of 1939. Anybody I remember Coaching at SMU in the mid 1960s is too old. He is not going to be considered. Geez. The education of MM65 continues

but even if he's just some figurehead...someone we can roll out in a wheelchair and present to the recruits. I'm on board, Jerry Moore, lets do it!

Please hire Jerry Moore, if for no other reason than to get him out of the Southern Conference. I've been watching App. State for years now and his teams are always well coached and play hard. The only blowout win Georgia Southern ever had against them was when they were making the transition from a pro-style to the spread. Since that season, ASU has been on a roll.
I didn't know about his SMU connections until a few days ago. I doubt he'd leave, honestly, as he seems very happy in North Carolina. He's a class act, by all accounts. Even Georgia Southern fans begrudgingly respect him, even though he's the coach of one of our biggest rivals. May be worth a look, though it would go against the splashy hire it seems a lot on this board are hoping for.
And as an earlier poster said, take Edwards too. I don't want to see him for another two years!!

Jerry is a very nice man who is very happy where he is and I am sure ready to retire. He should not want to come to this job even if it were right for him. I hope so for his sake anyway.

Agreed and he is very happy at App State. Almost ready to retire. He likes the lifestyle here in NC. (Boone is a beautiful area) If it was about the money he would have already left.
