Glen Mason is the worst choice possible. He is a joke and I doubt he could even get an interview at Rice.

He is the Kevin Cosgrove of head coaches. The coaching fraternity loves him for some unknown reason and he has no proven results on the field after 20 years of coaching.

Husker, Mason cannot be the WORST CHOICE POSSIBLE. Stallion has already designated Coker as the WORST CHOICE POSSIBLE. Of course that is after he had previously identified PJ as the WORST CHOICE POSSIBLE. And probably before he identifies the next possibility as the WORST CHOICE POSSIBLE. But still, Stallion is the official designator of the WORST CHOICE POSSIBLE. You are just going to have to come up with another derogatory term for Mason.

And Who the Hell are you? I've gone out on the line on 3 Coaches in recent years:

1. Phil Bennett-awful hire
2. Todd Graham -outstanding head Coaching candidate before taking Rice to their first bowl in 40 years and then winning CUSA West at Tulsa. Previously, I begged that SMU hire Graham as early as 6-7 years ago as a Coordinator because he was going to whip us in our back yard in recruiting which is exactly what he has done
3. Todd Dodge-go ahead get your shots in now because I'm going to enjoy this one. NTSU already has 7 players committed who are rated 3+ stars by Rivals or Scout including a 4 Star. If SMU hires Coker then Dodge will win more games, championships AND go to more bowl games than GrandPa Coker over the next 5 years IF he were to stay 5 years which he won't because he will get a better job. GrandPa Coker will be fired in 5-6 years just like his predecessors. What's more SMU is going to be getting scraps from the table AFTER Patterson, Graham, Dodge, Briles ALL outrecruit SMU in its backyard.

Make sure to get that shot at Dodge on the Record on my thread started for that very purpose. Most of the people on this board don't know the first think to look for in hiring a head coach which was proven with the near unanimous support for Bennett.

Ha Ha I started to write one but thought it would dilute the message, But Dwan remember I was a strong supporter of Gary Gibbs the last time SMU hired Bennett when he was just a College Coordinator. Since then he was hired by the Dallas Cowboys, turned down an offer to be A&M's DC, became an NFL Defensive Coordinator at New Orleans which miraculously turned a very untalented defense into a Super Bowl contender, and has been interviewed by 2 NFL teams for Head Coaching positions in the last year. GREAT CANDIDATE-compared to GrandPa Coker there is no comparison. Not good enough for SMU?

Bob Toledo is not having any appreciable success recruiting at Tulane. Todd Dodge is kicking his [deleted], for example, But hey nobody but UCF is recruiting well-that's why this conference is horrible and that's why it will remain horrible for the forseeable future. CUSA teams hire guys like Bob Toledo, Larry Coker and Bailiff.

But more college interviews for Coker than Gibbs!!!!

And Toledo is doing a pretty great job. You have to factor in he needs to sell a city that has still not recovered from a natural disaster. He has got some pretty impressive guys so far, guys that we and most everybody else in the conference would drool over

Chan Gailey was the worst possible hire. I agree with Dwan-I do not know if Coker is a builder and that is what we need.

i don't know.....I'd take Gailey over Coker and that is not saying much. At least we had success at a place that is difficult to win at....

Did we get more coverage than that of Britney Spears' 16 year old sister being pregnant?

Pretty uplifting post, Stallion. Maybe you should join the UNT board as we are not going to hire Todd Dodge.

Maybe I'll just stay here and predict what's going to happen like I have for the last 10 years. SMU under Coker=DISASTER

If we were to hire Coker, I will take that bet. Stallion, what could be a bigger disaster? Under your theory, we should never hire a coach.

My god...I agree with you...even Stevie Wonder could see what's about to happen if SMU hires Coker.
