Doesn't think Fran would be a long-term hire due to history of puddle-jumping.

Fran was at NM for 6 years and then took the TCU job.
TCU for 3 years and got the chance to coach at Alabama which anyone in the WAC would have taken.
Went to A&M when he found out about all of the infractions at Alabama.
That may be puddle-jumping to Norm but to me it is the typical thing you see with all coaches who want to move up the ladder.
Have you guys ever looked at the resumes of coaches. They drive moving vans instead of cars.

Bennett stayed for 6 years. Time on the job does not = success. Less time on the job is more likely an indicator of success.
Wouldn't it be nice 2 years from now to hear the coach search blogs stating that "the once dead SMU program, now flourishing, is a dream job for coaches nationwide"?

I would settle for us having a spirited debate in 5 years about whether our coach who replaced Fran should get all the credit for leading us to another 10 win season or if he is simply winning with Fran's recruits..............

I think we're more likely to here "The SMU coach search now enters week 112. Steve Orsini is now looking at the possibility of outsourcing the coaching job to India."

No, went to A&M when they offered him more. Everyone knew about Alabama's NCAA problems before he got there.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
