OT: OMG, we are losing an all time great to NTSU
The long time Maestro of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, David Itkin, is leaving after the 2009-2010 season to take a position as the Director of Orchestral Studies at NTSU College of Music. Those of you that thought Dodge would not make a difference have to sit up and take notice now whether you like it or not. This is devastating to the entire State of Arkansas and all music lovers as a whole.

Wow, this is a shocker. I thought the only music ensemble in Arkansas was the Marching Hogwaller Band from UA - with its 20 majorettes in tow.mrydel wrote: This is devastating to the entire State of Arkansas and all music lovers as a whole.
North Texas has one of the finest non-conservatory music schools in the country. It's no insult to lose a musician there, except to the musician himself, who will end up having to live in Denton.
"What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

No offense taken. Of course Denton is a city and Arkansas a state (that knowledge alone lets you know I did not graduate NTSU), but it would be difficult to find a place in Arkansas as bad as Denton. Do be careful when you hear banjos however.CalallenStang wrote:What's worse, Denton or Arkansas?
