I believe that the starting qb job is going to be between Willis and Mitchell and as much as I would like to see Mitchell play this year it really might be best for the team to red shirt him this year. He will have a whole year of learning the system and will be guranteed at least three years of eligability left after willis graduates

I'd like to see a guy who may be the best quarterback post DP play his last two years. If Mitchell's that great, he can take the reigns as a redshirt sophomore in 2010.

something to remember - June Jones does not necessarily believe in redshirting - he said that if he feels that player "A" is the best player (even if he is a freshman) he will play him over a starter - least that is what he said at a meeting when that quetion was asked - he also said that what he looks for in a quarterback is (1) accuracy (2) ability to make fast decisions and be right in those decisions and (3) arm strength

Mitchell may ultimately be better but he won't be ready to play until game 5 or 6 and it would be senseless to burn his shirt half way through the season.
Assuming JW doesn't screw up again he'll start and finish the season. Sanders' comments give me faith JW has his stuff together and that he knows he has to earn his teammates respect back.

I also was not impressed with Turner and believe JW will earn his starting job back, if, and it is a big if, he is academically eligible. I understand JJ told JW that if he didn't get his act together it would not matter that he missed spring practice as he would not be here next year. JW has the athletic ability to start, but will he or can he get his academics together is the question.

I don't claim to know who is the best...I like JW...but he must get his house in order and also learn to hang on to the ball. I believe Turner demonstrated in early drills that he has no problem firing the ball 60 yards and accurate. But we will just have to see who coach Jones wants out there...I would be happy with either as long as it gives us a good chance to win...Go Mustangs!!!

Pony Warrior is right in the fact that there will be alot of freshman playing... but not thaaaat many
Logan Turner will not play next year unless there is an injury. The starting QB spot will be between Willis and Mitchell.
WR: Aldrick Robinson & Em Sanders wont be leaving the game much. Drewery, Zimmerman, Bryant, and Whittingtons will most likely be in rotation (Look for B.J. Lee to be our return guy)
LB: Why has no one mentioned Odiari? He is a starter
CB: Look for at least one freshman to grab one of these spots.
OL and DL: I think you are all going to be very surprised but we are going to be seeing some freshman play these positions. At least 3.
WR: BRADLEY HAYNES will be the best if Willis will throw to someone besides Emanuel

I think chuck had it right that it will come down to willis and mitchell... probably willis (assuming everything works out for him) otherwise it will be mitchell. but i dont see JJ starting a freshmen if Willis can go. Mitchell will be the "number 2" but number 3 on the depth chart if that makes sense

I hear red shirt freshman, now starting offensive tackle, Beachum has really impressed the coaches with his potential.

I agree. Saw a number of practices and he had a great spring. Big, fast and strong with soft hands. Bradley will be on the field a lot.

I was told by very respectable source that Haynes has the potential to be one of the best recievers ever to set foot on the Hilltop. I cannot wait to see if this prediction is right.

On Justin Willis: Even if he comes back and starts, will he be on a short leash? Can he throw to a wide variety of recievers (not just Sanders), without running and most important can he do all this without getting attitude?
I think JJ knows he will need a number 2 ready to come in at any moment, just in case.
How many Seniors will be playing this year, besides Demyron Martin?

Can Justin Willis put his pants on without fumbling his socks? Seriously if the guy can figure out what the inside of a classroom looks like and gets back on the team he needs to figure out how to hold on to the damn football.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Yes, Mr. Wizard, you are so right. Willis is the worst QB we've thrown in that position since Dandy Don left.

"What's your problem Kazanski?" Are you Justin's girlfriend or something? I'm not saying the guy doesn't have talent. He clearly does. He also has a talent for treating a football like a hot potato.
Back off Warchild seriously.
