Former Texas coach Akers has heart surgery
From Wire Reports
Former Texas head football coach Fred Akers underwent open heart surgery to repair blocked arteries Wednesday morning at the Heart Hospital of Austin, according to his son, Dan.
Akers, who underwent successful quadruple bypass surgery, will be in the hospital's cardiac care unit for several days.
Akers, 65, served as the Longhorns' head football coach from 1977-86, and was an assistant at Texas from 1966-74.

I always hated the Horns (still do), but I wish Coach Akers well. Here's to a full recovery.
