I say we waive the 5 year rule and induct PAMR immediately into the PF.com Hall of Fame.

don't make a fool out of yourself by criticizing music from other eras unless you were actually there to experience it especially when the roots of all the rock music you hear today came from the 50's and 60's. In any event, female background vocals, I recall, were mainly a product of the wonderful 60's. Too much tequila tonight.

Thanks for the advice. My opinion -- the background vocals remind me of the teen love songs that came out of the 50s. Of course, you could read my insensitively general comment as a disparagement of all 50s music as wimpy, which was not intended. Can't imagine charging out on the field to Earth Angel. Not that Earth Angel is a bad song, for all you Penguins fans out there...

In any event, I agree with others that this song makes sense for the Boulevard, not the stadium.

Only if Oscar will be allowed to give my introduction speech.

I'm not sure that is such a good idea. As adept as Oscar is at public speaking, his specialty is eulogies.

If you want to get people to come into the stands early. Pick a random fan from the other school and have Peruna kick him in the nads. People would actually turn out to see that. Or a ritualistic sacrifice of the other teams' mascot. Take you pick. But a guy singing doowop songs. Let's see, drink another beer, or watch guy singing 50's ballad. I think I'll have another beer. After all, we then have to watch the game, and I'm not sure anyone should see our team when they are sober.

I love Peruna. Yes, in that way.

You are whining about a band playing in the stadium? What is wrong with all of you? You'd rather bob your head to some Jay-Z and cover your kids ears? I think this is a great idea and it's going to be alot of fun. I cant wait to see the ponies stomp Texas State.

Yes I would! This is FOOTBALL, not womens gymnastics nor is it ice skating. It's an emotional game that requires a high level of energy and intensity.

I think the music played in the stadium is very important in helping create a energetic atmosphere for the team and fans.

I don't think you'll find one football player who would get pumped by listening to this guy repeat Pony Up in a doo wop ballad with Barb, Peggy and Suzie backing him up.

No offense meant to the artist but it's just not fitting for football.

As I said in my earlier post about this, if our team enters the stadium to this song, I will be embarrassed. It is not going to pump anyone up. That's not to say it's not a good song and would not be appropriate to play during pre-game WARMUPS, it is just lame for a team entrance.
To me, this is like creating a tv series based on the Geico Caveman commercials a year after the commercials peaked. Or like playing Lollipops and Roses after a 10 point run to get back in the game. Lame, ill timed, derivative, contrived, and lame.
