Man, that's seriously ironic. Ghost of S.E. Hinton, I guess.ThadFilms wrote:I liked the fact that the band that played on the 'Vard before the TCU game was called Rumble Fish. And they were an 80s cover band. They sucked, btw.KnuckleStang wrote:Stay gold, pony boyponyboy wrote:I loved the book "the Outsiders" as a young lad. And I have a relative that acted in the movie.
At one point, I changed my handle to "sniper" because, let's be frank, ponyboy ain't the most manly of names. But then about a week later, the sniper attacks in Virginia happened and I switched it back.

It's great to get some of the back story on a few of these. Great read!
I'm a history dork, so working the WWII angle into my Pony screen name seemed like a no-brainer. So, since the Mustang was nicknamed "Cadillac of the Sky" it just sort of went from there.
Back in the mid-90s I played an on-line flight sim called "airwarrior." One of my friends was an avid P-51 nut, and spent a good deal of time writing the book so to speak, on how to fly the Pony in game. He was the one who turned me on to the moniker.

I got a ride in a Mustang a few years ago and it was incredible.
Here is a picture taken of me and the Mustang at John Wayne Airport...
