Beasley dropped a wide-open touchdown pass in the end zone that hit him in the hands. Sanders dropped a pass (again wide-open) to give us a first down and continue the same drive in the last minute or so of the game. Rock Dennis dropped several potential interceptions.
Yes and No.
Beasley dropped the game winner. Slapped him right in the palms of his hands. Poor kid's got to be hating life this a.m. A real shame because otherwise he had a great game.
The pass to Sanders was overthrown to the outside, while Sanders had his body turned inside. Sanders was open, but while it was technically catchable, the receiver had to make a twisting adjustment to catch it, which is bloody difficult when wearing shoulder pads. I saw it as either a bad pass from Bo or poor communication between QB and receiver. In either case, a sorry end to an otherwise good performance by the O.
If you want to talk drops, in addition to the gimme that Rock dropped (which may have altered the score by as much as +14 for SMU), don't forget the 3 or 4 'go' routes down the left sideline that Robinson missed. All were potential touchdowns. I think all of them could have been adjusted to and caught.
ponyte, you also missed the stellar running of Chris Butler. He, along with some good runs by McKinney AND A SUPRISINGLY HARD-RUNNING DeMyron Martin, made a huge difference! Just a guess, but the average yards per carry had to be better than 8. I know Bulter's average was close to 10 YPC. Damn I hope he's O.K.
