Much better shade of blue in that photo than what we are using right now.PlanoStang wrote:Spray paint our practice helmets RED![]()
Put white pony decals on them![]()
Wear them at homecoming![]()
Going retro for one game might fire people up![]()
I'd like to beat at least one Div 1A team this year![]()
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Long Overdue!!!
Perhaps we should start a campaign to raise the necessary $$$ to purchase retro unis & helmets for the team; & they can wear the unis a couple of times annually at home & away?

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

you are crazy if you don't think 90% of Div. 1/2/3/Pro/High school/ etc. care about how they look when they play. so all of the ponyfans can get fired up about new jersyes/helmets but players can't? they did it as sort of a "throwback" look, I personally have no problem with players being motivated by what they are wearing, especially if it has to do with the history and tradition of the program...Dylan08 wrote:If a Div 1 football player gets up for a game because of change in helmet color then he doesn't belong on the roster.

Face mask penalties got us 30 yards on our first drive against Houston. Face masks are one of our most potent weapons. Do not take them away.

Our flailing is underrated.
and why do the runners have our arms?
