well the AD did say he wanted to make a hire before the season ended but they were mainly going after coaches who currently werent already under employment

Going back to K State would not be a good move, IMHO.

Kansas State is a tough place to win, but by no means impossible. Hell the Big 12 North is extremely mediocre. A coach of his pedigree could make them into a top contender for the Big 12 title in very short time.
Back off Warchild seriously.

....that is a real K-State Rivals board. Unbelievable we now have Coaches being fired in midseason and hired away from another university in early November. BUT it is possible that TCU was aware of Patterson's definite interest in the job and basically said-if you're going get it over with so we can get our own guy in place as soon as possible.

I didn't think he would do this. Stunned. But it is his old stomping grounds.

Wow. It's a bad day to be a TCU fan. (Not that it would be any better on another day!) I am surprised, but it really isn't a bad move for GP. Plus the K State fans seem to be pretty good people.

TCU's going to be all right. That's an attractive job for somebody. I hear Phil Bennett is interested in getting back into a head coaching position....
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

So he would get JJ money for going to K-State? I thought the Froggies were telling us he was already getting JJ money.

If this is true, I guess this eliminates the idea that last night's loss (WAY TO GO, UTES!) might lessen Patterson's appeal as a candidate elsewhere.

Frog fans are in denial. First Fran left them without so much as a reach around and now Patterson appears to be leaving MID-SEASON. If true, no wonder they have an inferiority complex.
