There have been about three non-competitive games, but the rest have been pretty solid. About 6-7 have been decided by a touchdown or less and two went into overtime.
General college football fans may not like it, but you can't tell me the coaches and kids and the team's fans don't get into it. Yes, some of the matchups aren't appetizing -- CMU-Fla Atl. and La Tech-NIU -- but during the regular season, most of us weren't paying attention to these teams anyway.
The general reaction to when they win is pretty euphoric. These teams are playing the incentive to win and are not going through the motions.
Again, I am not in favor of a playoff for reasons I explained about a month ago.
Best games to me so far:
1. West Virginia-UNC
2. Missouri-Northwestern
3. TCU-Boise St.
4. California-Miami
5. Wake Forest-Navy

No mention of the Little 10-11 starting the bowl season 0-2?

You can say what you want...La Tech vs. NIU at the Independence Bowl was pretty cool to those of us who went. I'm not a fan of either team, but it was an easy bowl game to get into...not very expensive. Fun pre-game tailgating (it's Louisiana, after all). Was good to take kids too (a little chilly, but not too bad). Complete w/ jumbo corndogs, bratwurst, Dr. Pepper, and pizza. It was a competitive game...sure, the talent isn't some of these others you mentioned, but it was worth it nonetheless.
The bigger bowl games are certainly more appealing vis-a-vis talent. They may even be more fun. I dunno. I do know that this bowl game (and I suspect ones like it) are indeed opportunities for dads like me to hang out with their sons and daughters. And THAT, to me, is worth any 50 big bowl games. Just my humble opinion.

General - you can still have bowl games and a playoff system...

I think I mentioned on a thread that was canned that the conference was probably going to win one or two of them. And I said Wisconsin and Northwestern weren't going to be either one of them.
I'm not disappointed in Wisconsin because I have no love for the Red Army. Disappointed that Northwestern didn't finish despite the gifts Chase Daniel gave the Wildcats.
By no means does it diminsh my loyalty to that conference. But I also recognize its shortcomings.

Not really concerned about that.

That's fine.
Just makes more people say "who cares" if they win. Attendance at most of them is laughable.
Enjoy the games.

Honestly, bowl games don't seem like a reward anymore, which makes it much more pathetic that we haven't gotten to one since the 80s.
