Washington St site views SMU as a "sure thing"

Postby SMU 86 » Tue Jan 06, 2009 11:08 am

The article is titled, "Cougs need more SMU's on schedule." This is a little too much confidence. Here is the link.

And why would they not until we prove it otherwise?

I would think every D1 team in America could use more SMU on the schedule.

I agree. They are putting us in the same category as Texas State and North Texas, whom they have played in the past.

Wow. I'd say neither team is in position to consider any game "a sure thing."

Hope we whip them up and down the field.

If JJ can make significant strides on the defensive side of the ball by next season, then it isn't a sure thing for other mediocre teams. We need a much stronger defense to be competitive. This recruiting class and the offseason should give us a hint as to how the defense will perform next season. Will it be the same, worse (is that possible?) or better will determine a lot about our season.

I will be excited for next season if our offense looks dismal to non-existent at training camp.

When you start scheduling games as "a sure thing," your program ends up in big trouble! (See Michigan--Appalachian St!)

.....Not that Wazzu's program isn't already in trouble.
