Not so fast, my friend!

How do those numbers change when you add Jared Romo and Cortley Blackmon and the other rumored JUCO QB?

Hey, I wasn't trying to be flip there. Just curious how the rankings might change, if Romo and Blackmon are viewed as legit players.

Those rankings already include Blackmon.

Also, the ratings are points based. All 4 of TCU's JUCO recruits have 3 stars, but points aren't given to JUCOs. SMU has one JUCO listed, Bobby Chase, and there are no points for him.

So, basically, you can use the average stars to judge a class including JUCOs, and the points to judge it without.

TCU has 9 HS recruits for 59 points. SMU has 7 for 55. So our average score is a little higher than TCU, because Vincent Chase is a three star and TCU doesn't have any non-JUCO 3 star commitments.

With the Jucos, TCU has 13 commits, with an average of 2.31 stars. SMU right now has 8 for an average of 2.13. However, if you add the tw0 JUCOs Rivals doesn't have, that puses SMU up to 10 commits. If one of those is rated a three star, SMU is at a 2.2 average, which is behind TCU. If both are three star, SMU will have a 2.3 average, which is about even with TCU.

I have no idea what the ratings of the SMU JUCOs will be, but I think you can assume that if you compare just the underclassmen, SMU has a stronger class so far. But with the JUCOs included, SMU is probably a little bit behind TCU. When you sort by average star, TCU moves up to 51, and SMU moves down to 64.

The fact that the Horn Frauds had a great season and we were 0-11 or 0-12 whatever and we are still tied with TCU is an embarrassment to them. Just think if we had knocked off a team we were not supposed to win like Tech. I sit here and think what if we had won 4 or 5 games.

Is Darcel McBath included in the figure. Is he in or out with the toads. Stallion reported he is out?!

I seriously doubt if either of our JUCOs are 3 stars-Bobby Chase didn't even start in Junior College and Romo has never been mentioned by a recruiting service I'm aware of. All and all though I will say SMU. largely based on its early recruiting appears to be holding its own in HIGH SCHOOL recruiting with Baylor, Houston, TCU and Rice but unfortunately all those teams except Rice are coming up with some quality JUCOs which SMU isn't. I doubt-but I could be wrong that any of those schools have 4 High School players who have made a major Texas Top 100 like Martin, Chase, Henderson and Lindley.

Bobby Chase is actually in the Rivals database now as a two-star recruit.

Also, McBath never decommitted for the third time. It was an acticle that was outdated.

the first one was-the second one had quotes after the state championship game which appeared to say he was looking elsewhere. Could be sloppy work by the Insiders but it didn't appear that way after the second story.
