10 schools that should get more blue chips (SMU)Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Doesn't have a grasp of reality when it comes to the alignment within college football. Get rid of the BCS-BS & those schools, including SMU would get more blue chips
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Or a program that has only had two "non-losing" seasons in almost 20 years.......................
Well said!

Good point pony'. At least it has the potential with the current cartel arrangement in college football.

SMU should be just as successful in the non-BCS world as UT is in the BCS-world.
Top 25 in Football….occasionally Top 25 in Basketball…consistently

I guess it is how you define Top 25.
If SMU runs the table in C-USA and wins its bowl game, yes, it is consistent Top 25 in the rankings. Just don’t know if any team from this weak conference truly deserves to be Top 25 in FB. BB is another story. No reason we can’t compete with ANYONE.
You really don't think that now that we have basically decided to do the same thing that TCU has done for years that SMU can't possibly hope to compete with TCU? Or for that matter any non-BCS school. Tulsa? UTEP? Tulane? Rice? Best football facility in CUSA West and a Top Coach with a national reputation? We need to give our Coaches time to build their programs-4-5 years of solid recruiting, not 2 before we try to run them off- but I don't see any reason SMU can't accomplish much of what TCU has done-I don't see any reason SMU can't be the dominant non-BCS program at least in this part of the country. Quite frankly we need to reestablish the DFW Metroplex recruiting pipeline-the rest will take care of itself.
us YES...other C-USA schools...not as optimistic.
btw...I have always thought that if SMU was in the BCS system, in time we could be the 2nd best school in Texas.
