Oh I had expectations, I just did not have a prediction.
Different words, different meanings, look it up in a book, thats what lawyers do....no?
Allow me to use your own words in retort, from this thread no less. Insane_Pony_Posse wrote:i expect at least 4 wins this season
maybe more if Shawnbrey McNeal plays
Now shall I ask again what your expectation, i.e., prediction was for last year? You said your expectation for this year is 4 wins (minimum), and you said you had expectations last year. Now I rest my case.
And I keep coming back to watch the mustangs year after year because I am a fan, not just a fair weather fan. And I am not disappointed, because I have no expectations.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

And I will answer again. I expected SMU to starting moving in the right direction and made no prediction as far as number of wins because of the new regime and the massive overhaul they were about to undertake. I knew then as I know today that we have the right coach, the right staff, the right AD that will make the right decisions that will make us a winning team within 3 years of when June Jones signed the dotted line.
You said your expectation for this year is 4 wins, and you said you had expectations last year. Now I rest my case.
I would advise resting before you dig your hole any deeper......your dots don't connect.
An apple is not an orange no matter how well they teach you to be able to argue so at law school.
One can have some "expectations to get married" but not predict it.
I have "expectations" that I will be healthy but I am not predicting it.
This year like last year I have expectations, this year unlike last year I am making a prediction.
At least fo!
And I keep coming back to watch the mustangs year after year because I am a fan, not just a fair weather fan. And I am not disappointed, because I have no expectations.
That makes no sense.
That would be like if a guy followed a stock, read about it every single day, spent money gathering info about it, continued buying the stock year after year after year but then stated it is "inevitable" that this stock will be a "disappointment".
Either the guy would be lying or he'd be a moron....right?

Well again, I'm just a fan who likes to go to games and hang out on the 'vard, but who also in the last few years has given up any expectations of this program because they have not met them in the last 20 years. I used to have them, and I was disappointed, but now I don't and I'm not. You either get that or you don't.
But do tell why you do it expectation man--is it because you're a liar or a moron? Or are you simply not disappointed in the results of the last 20 years?
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

So let me get this straight-I'm scared to make a prediction (although I do every single year in the week before the season-last year 3-9 with detailed analysis) and yet you yourself made no prediction whatsoever last year and are calling me out for being scared. Seriously, calm down Herkie Herkimer. Try to make a logical point.

yes you are scared to make a june prediction so if all these dire circumstances of how every other school is beating june jones at the recruiting game don't pan out you can hide.
sure i didn't make a prediction last year because i didn't know what'd we'd do.....it wasn't because I felt ominous...I just didn't know what we'd do......but you on the other hand always seem so sure you know everything and have all the answers. I don't pretend to know all the answers.....YOU DO!
It's logical to ask a know-it-all what his prediction is...no?

1. McNeal isn't eligible yet or may never be eligible.
2. Thereby, the running game is very suspect.
3. Defensive positions in the new 3-4 are not set.
4. Backup QB -- very important in my mind -- is sitting out there.
5. Also, we need more receiver options than Robinson and Sanders. Didn't have too many after them and there are still a lot ?s regarding depth there as well.
Plus I, we're going to find out this season if Bo Levi Mitchell really has the intangibles to be a solid DI quarterback.
Plus II, we're going to find out if this defense can actually stop somebody.
Doesn't look like anything close to a winning season to me. But I hope I'm wrong. Just don't see it.

How can you make any kind of reasonable prediction for the season when we've yet to see the incoming players, we don't know who's in what position, etc etc? Making a prediction now is completely worthless.

Is the words of the ground crew in "Major League"
These guys will still be @#itty.
We were almost dead last in Defense last year (2nd to last in yards/game) and we have done nothing to address the situation. We will have to score evertime to stay competitive, otherwise it will be more of the same.
This program is still a few years away......I would temper the expectations.

I don't know if Dave Campbell's, Street & Smith's, Athlon's or other college football preview magazine news staff would agree since their publications are hitting news stands right about now.

And I am sure....you are just as adamant that "any kind of prediction" on how these June Jones recruits will turn out and being negative towards the signings when "we've yet to see the incoming players" is just as worthless?

Am I the only one who thinks the starting QB is still a very big question mark?

Oh yes, I pine for the early 2000's quarterback play that we enjoyed here at SMU.
